This shows the "Route" that became the priority of the walk as structured. Alternative structural metaphors, such as 'missions' or 'teams' or 'investigations' were suborned under the Route/Waypoint construct. As a result, the range of autonomy was constrained, and the potential serendipity of a 'drift' in the classic Situationist model was sacrificed. The upside of the controlled Route was that the group had the positive outcome of 'attaining' waypoints, the downside was that sidereal observations (what's around me?) were possibly lost as we marched onward.
